The Carpenter’s arms is still open and is receiving the attention it deserves, by way of a refurbishment that will be complete by mid October 2018.

And last, but certainly not least, you are welcome to walk in the footsteps of another celebrated local, the world famous English artist, Sir Stanley Spencer.

He lived a stone’s throw from The Carpenters Arms and painted local Burghclere scenes as well as his unique and moving murals at the Sandham Memorial Chapel in Burghclere.
